These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and Cove. By accessing or using Cove’s app, website, or any related service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Cove.
We may change these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated Terms and the new effective date. Your continued use of Cove after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction. Cove may be invite-only or require credentials issued by us or an authorized partner. By using Cove, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
2. Your account
You may create only one account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the credentials you use to access Cove. You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate your account if we suspect unauthorized use or a violation of these Terms.
3. Access and invitations
Access to Cove may be limited to specific individuals through invitations, codes, or other credentials issued by us or an authorized partner. These credentials are personal, non-transferable, and may be revoked at any time. We may refuse access to anyone without a valid credential.
4. How you may and may not use Cove
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, abuse, defame, or discriminate against any person;
- impersonate another person, create fake accounts, or use false information;
- use Cove if you are under 18 or create an account for someone under 18;
- record, capture, or share another user’s voice, image, or messages without their consent;
- solicit money, promote products, or use Cove for commercial purposes;
- scrape, reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract Cove’s source code or data;
- use bots, scripts, or automated means to access or interact with Cove;
- circumvent any security, access, or age-control feature;
- share another person’s personal information without permission;
- use Cove for any illegal purpose or in violation of Egyptian law.
You are solely responsible for your conduct and any content you upload, write, or share while using Cove. We do not pre-screen users or content.
5. Content and licenses
You keep ownership of any content you submit, such as profile photos, answers, and messages. You grant Cove a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and display that content for the purpose of operating and improving Cove.
You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload and that it does not violate anyone else’s rights or any law. We may remove or refuse content that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users.
6. Communications and real-time features
Cove may allow you to communicate with other users through real-time or asynchronous features. The service does not record or store the content of real-time interactions. You may not record or redistribute any content of another user without their explicit consent. You understand that we cannot control what another user says or does, and we are not responsible for the content of communications between users.
7. No guarantee of results
Cove is an experience, not a guarantee. We do not promise any number of connections, conversations, or any specific outcome. Results depend on other participants, their choices, and network conditions.
8. Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to Cove at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. This includes removing your profile, revoking your access, and preventing you from using the service in the future. You may stop using Cove at any time and request deletion of your data under our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
Cove is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Egyptian law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that Cove will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or meet your expectations.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, the content of any communication, or any interaction that occurs through Cove. You use Cove at your own risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Egyptian law, Cove and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if we were advised of the possibility. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Cove will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) EGP 500. This limitation does not apply to gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury where such limitation is prohibited by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cove and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of Cove, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.
12. Intellectual property
Cove and its name, logo, code, design, and all original content (excluding user content) are the property of Cove or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without our written permission. You may not reverse engineer or attempt to discover the source code of the app.
13. Consumer rights
We comply with Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018. Because certain Cove features are live, time-limited, or fully performed at the time they are delivered, the 14-day withdrawal right for remote contracts may not apply once the feature has been consumed. If you paid any fee and did not receive the service due to a fault on our side, contact us and we will address it in accordance with applicable law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Cove will be brought before the competent courts or authorities in Cairo, Egypt. Before filing a formal legal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute in good faith by contacting us at hello@cove.app.
15. General
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Cove regarding the service. We may assign or transfer these Terms without restriction.
